Enjoyed marshaling at @pocketparkrun this morning. Had a lovely spot by the river and went for a delicious breakfast with the other volunteers afterwards. A lovely way to start the bank holiday weekend. ❤

The stars aligned this morning when we had the whole Pocket parkrun core team volunteering together, having delivered over 30,000 5k runs for more than 6000 runners.

Last night the Pocket parkrun core team met to review our emergency procedures. We also drunk some beer.

We’ve heard that the runner is comfortable in hospital and expected to make a full recovery.
Unfortunately we had a runner collapse at the finish of Pocket parkrun who later required ambulance attention. Luckily we had a paramedic and an NHS Nurse at the finish who were able to provide immediate attention, until the ambulance arrived (thank you Ian and Becky). .

The runner has been taken to hospital, accompanied by family members. Fingers crossed for a speedy recovery. Thank you to everyone who helped,our wonderful NHS, and our level headed volunteer team who calmly executed a response to our first proper emergency (especially Jo as RD).

Pocket parkrun is cancelled tomorrow Saturday 19th February. If you find yourself short of something to do, then our neighbours at Storeys Field parkrun are desperately looking for volunteers.
