This country is so starved of left wing energy in electoral politics that you’ll jump on anything that makes you feel radical. Just accepting that it’s the voters fault and the way around it is to not be a voter feels like you’re letting capitalists get away with it.

Whatever idk what to do but one thing I can assure you is that if you proudly declare that you will never vote no matter how big the threat might be, it’s absurd to think that a major party will then find a candidate to appeal to you, a person who doesn’t vote.

I think the rightward shift happened because of wealth consolidation and decreased union membership. Eventually democrats realized they could get in on the money if they acted more like republicans.
