Anyone travelling to North Goa @miagoaairport would know the taxis which cost Rs. 1200-2500 on avg to get anywhere. While there is a little used AC shuttle bus service that gets you close at 1/10th the cost. ℹ️🚍Sharing the latest timetable and fare details in public interest

"Why are we ok living like this?" A truly trashy Bengaluru story of how debris is conveniently filling the gaps in the city's regulation of construction waste. Includes an explainer by the spokesperson of the real estate mafia on how to make real estate🤝 Great show!
It’s on :) https://t.co/taxkN773jp

Development Must Not Come at the Cost of the Himalayas and Its People In the quiet border village of Jelam near Joshimath, a story of loss has unfolded that captures what happens when development forgets its human face. Along the under-construction Jhelam–Malari road, a section

AI might thus be never be able to break free of the limits that science imposes on it, unlike real intelligence.

Limits on consciousness is also a western concepts that is bound by the resolution of current scientific instruments. In contrast, yoga postulates that through the control of breath, one can move towards infinite consciousness.

An interesting thought, the real intelligence of the human is the ability to know what to throw away to avoid wasting our processing resources. For AI to significantly progress, we're going to have to throw mighty more humans in the loop to discard garbage in the training data
We have a Limit to how much data we can process in any given second—just ~60 bits per second from all sense organs. This means human consciousness is always limited and we can learn how better to train AI by it. I remade this video about a decade ago.

Will have to confirm, but the tiles were most likely made by Shankar Turi, a well known tile maker from Bicholim, North Goa

A crumbling bus shelter in the village is now primarily a billboard for a cement company 😂 What a shame, such a pretty location that could be a beautiful public space if anybody cared.

One street, two signs. One likely funded by the local church, one by the government.

#Map shows ~6 lakh village/towns of India & their male workforce engaged in agriculture (2011) which is a major indicator for urbanization One of census' criteria to define urban is that 75% of male force should be engaged in non-agri work & Govt has retained it for current

Smeden is an eco-village in Jönköping, Sweden. In 1988 the local government decided to offer land for an ecologically themed housing development, and two architects were appointed to lead the work: 24 homes and one community building. At first they allowed local families to sign

Update: Gave up on the bus idea and tried my luck with a lift unsuccessfully for 20 min. The few people who stopped were not headed all the way and I’d risk being stranded at night in the rain. The available transit options quickly narrows down to a taxi for Rs1200 😢

The trouble with Google maps is that it does not have the private minibus schedules, so it is not a source of truth. A local at the nearby Narkasur DJ party might be the most reliable source of truth. Bad news he utters ‘last bus was at 6pm’ . Thunder rumbles above. 😱

Going to stretch my luck and attempt getting back home after being sufficiently beached. Have heard last buses are around 8pm. It’s 8.15pm and have been waiting at the stop for 15min already 🤞 Google says take a room for the night and try tomorrow

A jubilant feeling engulfs as one walks to the sea without having had to drive from home. This is a major milestone living in Goa. Don’t know a single person who uses the bus regularly here. Would I recommend? Yes if you are adventurous and have some spare time on your hands.

The views on the ride are great, roads are free of traffic, and in 25 mins I’m dropped at Mandrem beach ✨ Fare: Rs 30. Time: 78mins with wait At Mandrem a line of scooters and a taxi fare chart greet me. For tourists the same ride would be Rs.1200 on a taxi to Mapusa market.

Most local routes like this between the town and nearby villages are run by private minibuses. They run are frequencies of 20-45 mins without published schedules. At T+42 am on the way but squeezed tight in a packed minibus towards Mandrem

Most folks visiting Goa would claim no usable public transit exists. After 3 years of living here, can confirm no tourist friendly public transit exists, but there is a fully functional one catering to most village needs. A bus is approaching. But not all go to Mandrem 🙊
