#OnThisDay 80yrs ago my dad Phil Bottomley was part of the assault phase on Juno Beach with the King’s Liverpool Regt 8th Bn ‘A’ Coy. They landed “under intense machine-gun & mortar fire” Seriously injured at the Battle of Falaise Gap in Aug ‘44 he died in 2016 RIP #DDay80
