Checking Twitter ahead of the reopening today and I can see people still arguing about the 2nd referendum petition from 2016 😭.

Reach newspapers really are just click bait now. This is based on what a speculated rise in fuel duty might cost a motorist per year and not some new 'charge' being introduced - I suspect these are AI generated.

Thought I'd have a few hours at the top of the Rails Strava cycling club leaderboard by getting out for a ride early today only to find @nateberkopec has already done five rides on Zwift 😅.

Even let me down today. At least they had me standing in the middle - the platform displays would’ve had me running 250m.

I always love it when @AvantiWestCoast run a train in reverse order and I have to sprint 150m to get to the cycle carriage before they leave without me 😭.

Disappointed that the inquiry hasn't pursued the Riposte software in any depth because it's clearly a 'systemic flaw' and would've been obvious before prosecutions started. Instead we got four days of Gareth Jenkins being asked whether he knew what an expert witness duties were.

There's a common statement from FUJ/POL witnesses that crown offices didn't see these problems and that's true because they would have more reliable power, permanent connections and more counters so less likely to miss replication broadcasts.

Given that the counters were connected intermittently via ISDN and local replication happened via UDP/IP Multicast, the possibility of losing transactions without realising is inevitable given the size of the PO network.

These two KELs raised in 1999 from today's questioning of Andy Dunks clearly demonstrate that the underlying Escher Riposte software wasn't robust enough in the event of power cuts or disk failure. It's no wonder members of the SSC didn't want to testify. #PostOfficeInquiry

TIL that e-bike motors have an IP54 rating which seems absurdly low given where they're positioned. Also washing with even a regular hose fitted to a tap is inadvisable as the '4' in '54' means protected from splashes only. 😬.

The real problem with context switching isn't the loss of 'flow', it's overriding your muscle memory to type single or double quotes depending on what rubocop rules the app has.

Imagine having to turn a 55 / 10 ratio at 120rpm to get to 52mph 😅.

Daily Telegraph journalists told "check your research" after front page claims cyclists hit 52mph chasing Strava segments, despite that being faster than Olympic track cyclists.

What I don't get about the Post Office inquiry is why the source code and any version control commit messages haven't been required for disclosure. I can see why Horizon Online would be commercially sensitive since it's still in use but Legacy must be obsolete?.

Been like this for a few hours now so if you want to get on with your work delete the microsoft-prod.list file from /etc/apt/sources.list.d/ and then run `apt-get update`. (assuming you don't need any of the packages in this file: .
