What's ironic about all the "tough on crime" talks in North America is that they're never about real crimes like sex trafficking by pedophiles or some White boys shooting up their schools. It's always just about homelessness, which in some countries isn't even a crime.

A reminder that 2023 had the record-high of 1,871 opioid deaths under the UCP recovery and treatment policy, and even after the "decrease" in 2024 the number (1,189) was still a lot higher than the numbers from 2016 to 2019 (554~805).
Albertans want safe streets — not dangerous ideologies. We’re cracking down on violent crime and opioids, and it’s our frontline heroes, like police and paramedics, who deserve the real credit. They’re doing the hard work. We’ve got their back.
