How do we expect to do this when some of us vend at ~25 cons a year? And that’s just enough to carve out a sustainable living, so when do artists like us have the time to mAkE cHaRmS WiTh ReSiN, a highly toxic chemical? Hand crafting is not sustainable on a convention scale.
Hot tips from an artist girlie who makes stuff:.- if you can, look into making charms with resin. It’s a little messy and requires gloves and masking but you can make stuff for cheaper in some cases and make smaller batches so you never have to over-order 🧵.

I haven’t been on this app in a minute but tbh all of this vitriol against artists is pissing me off. Instead of turning on artists, turn on the big corps destroying our world and setting the unethical work and pay standards. We, the small artists are not your enemies.

Look,.with Trump back in office and tariffs on the horizon, artists who produce their small batch products overseas will struggle and many will not survive. Instead of tearing us apart, we should be coming together to support art and small businesses in these dark times.

I rly sympathize with new artists. There’s so much working against us right now: nearly nonexistent traditional job market, the use of AI by large corps to cut costs, the necessity of always being on soc med etc. We don’t need the casual xenophobia and what aboutism nonsense too.
