When UCLA football rises from the ashes and Hollywood makes a movie out of it, Jeremy Renner will get that elusive academy award for his portrayal of Bob Chesney.

The coolest thing about this edit for the new UCLA head football coach is they superimposed Royce quad as the reflection on his mirrored sunglass lenses, which of course you can see from the Rose Bowl or the future indoor home of the team of SoFi Stadium…

Casual fans will tune into the playoffs and seeing our future coach succeeding with G5 resources gives that hope and positive energy that will drive NIL fundraising and ticket sales in whatever stadium UCLA ends up in.

I'm in a minority of UCLA football fans that is rooting for JMU to make a playoff run, even pull off a round 1 upset. The fanbase, which includes most small money NIL donors, needs a reason to be excited. Bob Chesney is a name that only excites CFB nerds that follow CFB closely

At this point, Bob Chesney should be given the opportunity to evaluate is Jerry has an immediate future with this program. If not, Jarmond, the entire UCLA AD and extended network should find him a landing spot. He’s given everything to this program…

Jarmond is a self serving narcissist. His best hire (women’s soccer coach) left, his best result in revenue sports (final four run) was built off his predecessor’s hire, and he’s fumbled every step of handling the football program in his tenure

If it’s true that Martin Jarmond offered Jerry Neuheisel an analyst job with the program going forward, that’s all the proof he’s a terrible manager and steward for UCLA athletics. @latbbolch previously reported he tried to take credit for promoting him OC in the brief win streak

Some truly great stuff from Blake Snell tonight. Should have broken this open by now but the Brewers have gotten some lucky bounces and insanely generous calls. Gotta put the foot on the pedal and open this game up here.

Maybe Jarmond should have waited until after the northwestern game to announce he was gonna be head of this search committee. Yet another example of why UCLA has no business being in the Big 10 and it’s place as the laughingstock at the bottom of the conference are solely on him.

Why not include a person like James Washington? Bruins for Life is far from the best example of an official NIL collective in CFB, but he's tied into the world and invested heavily in the success of UCLA football. Whoever the next coach is, they will have to work together

The writing is all over the room and UCLA still isn't reading it...Jarmond made two absolutely disastrous decisions within a 3 month span (not firing Chip, then panic hiring Foster).

UCLA announced its football coaching search committee headed by Martin Jarmond: •            Casey Wasserman •            Bob Myers •            Eric Kendricks •            Adam Peters •            Erin Adkins

Which brings us to the most toxic stretch of my relationship with UCLA football…it all begins and ends with Chip Kelly. He took all the life out of this program and made millions to do it. Left an inept and mostly absent AD to make a desperate hire and that’s where we are now.

There was energy building…We Owned This Town for a stretch there. This was another inflection point, but ultimately the road hit a fork and Mora took the the wrong path and he had to go.

This is the point of the story when all those close to me told me I was ridiculous for still following this team, but Jim Mora came out to prove them all wrong!!! The best thing to come out of the CRN era was bringing guys like Hundley, Anthony, and Kendricks to campus.

I don’t have a lot to say about the Slick Rick days…let’s just say my passion bucket was full every year. The recruiting made it interesting…the pistol offense made it unwatchable at the end.

Then you gave us Karl Dorrell…he was supposed to be the good guy alum who actually understood what it took to be successful. There were some moments there, 2005 I’m looking at you! Beating Oklahoma with Adrian Peterson (still top 3 game I’ve ever been to). Let’s not forget 13-9!

The late 90s were fun…I still think about Dec 5, 1998 once every couple of weeks and what could have been….i realize now that’s where the nails went into the tires. There was just enough air for a few years to think it could happen but ended up broken down

This is my breakup text with UCLA football. You were cute when I was young and easily impressed. Your colors were (and always will be) the best, some of my favorite pro players were alums, and as a fellow younger sibling your vibe always resonated with me. 🧵
