I came out in 2015. It was traumatic. It’s hard not to carry those feelings with me years later. Now life is full of joy and a family I never would’ve had if I hadn’t made that decision in 2015. You never stop coming out, but I’m glad I started 8 years ago.

Since 2017 hurricanes have been relentless. We've had five cat 4s and one cat 5 impact the Gulf Coast. That's six catastrophic hurricanes in 6 seasons...before 2017 it took 45 years for the US to be impacted by six Cat 4/5 hurricanes. I know everyone is so tired.

Growing up I was forced to think straight was the only way. I was only “taught” to be straight and guess what…It didn’t do anything expect make me miserable and alone. It’s not a choice.

with winds of 150 mph. Cat 5 is 157+ mph. A hurricane this strong hasn’t made landfall in Louisiana since 1856 (also 150 mph). This could potentially be the strongest hurricane on record to make landfall in Louisiana if it strengthens anymore
