I am officially the last one remaining in my PhD cohort from Harvard - everyone else has graduated. If I’m not mistaken, it was Confucius who once said, “It’s not about the length of the PhD, it’s about how one uses it.”.

Eventful past 7 days. Got married, 2 separate head injuries, concussion, family dog got sick, stuck in NJ because I can’t drive back to MO, need to pack my apartment and move in a week but again - stuck in NJ. Ahhhhhh!.

Loved one has COVID and bad asthma. Went to urgent care in NJ today to get Paxlovid. Doctor told her Paxlovid was pulled from use because it’s ineffective against the new variant. Sorry, what? Why do we let these people keep practicing medicine?.

Avoided doing an experiment for months for fear of how disappointed I’d be with the result. Finally did it yesterday, exact opposite result happened. Do that experiment you’ve been sitting on! Biology is unpredictable!.
