I strongly recommend to basketball fans the new book by @paulieknep about Moses Malone. An absorbing and insightful look at the life of an often overlooked all-time great.

In the 76ers locker room after the 1983 Finals, Earl Cureton wandered by with a friend who wanted to meet Malone. "I want you to meet Al Capone Malone," Cureton said. "He steals basketball games." Moses replied. "That's me, "the gangster of basketball." @jakeuitti

Holy Ohtani! Is that the greatest single game performance in MLB history? Some others off the top of my head are Larsen's perfect game in the 1956 WS, Jack Morris's 10 scoreless innings in Game 7 of 1991 WS, Reggie 3 home runs on 3 swings in Game 6 of 1977 WS. What am I missing?

When Moses played at Petersburg High School ๐Ÿ“ผ : @flagstafffilms https://t.co/QyKMH9JriL

Moses Malone averaged 36 points, 25 rebounds, and about 12 blocked shots per game in his senior year at Petersburg High School. High school games were only 32 minutes long, there was no shot clock, and Moses often didn't play the fourth quarter because his team was so far ahead.
