Good to be on @BBCBreakfast this morning as we publish our sobering and concerning report about some of the oldest people in our communities in corridor care.
'It's dehumanising and it doesn't really need to happen' Paul Farmer from Age UK spoke to #BBCBreakfast about their report which reveals 'heartbreaking' stories of how older people are suffering, spending hours in corridors and side-rooms in hospitals in England

“Once people realise I’m still running at 89, they treat me as an inspiration … it does please me that they think, ‘I hope I can still be running at your age’.” 🏃♂️ Read Tom’s story on how he’s raised money for @age_uk and keeps active later in life: https://t.co/LLpB7Zgswp

Excellent piece by @WriteMcFarlane about older people especially her parents as we mark International Older Persons Day.
I have a piece in @thetimes today (International Older Persons Day) about how we should speak to/about older people.

In the NHS 10 Year Plan, the potential of the new neighbourhood health service is significant for older people and the work of the voluntary sector. Good to reflect on that today with @1adass colleagues today in Camden.
“A Neighbourhood Health Service could be a game-changer for older people - if we get it right,” says our Charity Director @Car_Abrahams on the #10YearHealthPlan. Read our full response here👉 https://t.co/GFzFKYoQzf

Important and welcome news from the PM that the Government is looking again at winter fuel payments. It's exactly what we have called for in recent months. The details will be crucial to ensure that many more older people will be eligible this winter.

A positive step forward towards a UN Convention on the Rights of older people. These are long term campaigns, so many congratulations to our @Age_Int colleagues for reaching this next milestone.
At Age UK we want to ensure older people's human rights are protected by law. That's why we are championing a UN treaty for a “global minimum standard of legal protections for older people". Have a read of why this is important 👇 https://t.co/bi3CZOOd94

Great to see my colleagues Caroline and Tom at the Health Select Committee today. At the same time our local Age UKs have been designing how we can support older people to have an even stronger voice!
Pleasure to give evidence this morning with my colleague Tom Gentry who gave a great presentation of @age_uk data analysis. As one committee member commented, the picture is pretty depressing overall. Casey Commission & NHS Plan can’t happen too soon.
