I heard #hotmakes hit episode 180 and I don't think i've made the cut yet. Hoping for ep 181, full color 3d printed stained glass, @Polymaker_3D #panchroma translucent. Needs work but at least I have my "how it started" photo.

Since launching in February over 1000 color lithophanes have been downloaded! I have just done a huge upgrade, much faster and more options like picking output size. @epax3d @BambulabGlobal @PrintedSolid

I tried to upload my first model to @BambulabGlobal Maker World, print profiles for my color lithophane files, and apparently my quality standards are too high? Fortunately my 0.4mm profile was "simple" enough but shouldn't they want high quality files?

It took many months and hundreds of hours of development but I finally have my gen 2 color lithophane tool up, It has profiles for @epax3d @PrintedSolid and @BambulabGlobal CMYK filaments. Definitely a beta with intentional limits but a good start I think

After a few years of printing color lithophanes I have decided to start over from scratch to fix issues I have encountered. I started a substack to document the journey

For folks attending @MidwestRRfest I will be showing some color lithos using Bambu CMYK with my new V2 color litho algorithm. For those with @BambulabGlobal printers and a 0.2 nozzle you can print them yourself

At @rmrrf I told folks that I was at my limit with color lithophanes, but then @BambulabGlobal released cmyk filament without a lithophanemaker profile and I ended up going back to square one, completely new code. I think I'm slowly getting there (first image is the original).

I just found out that a couple weeks ago @caterpillar passed away ( Almost everything I have produced over the past few years has been dependent on his #dotscad library. He was my @openscad idol.

At #errf2022 I received a spool of @sparta3d burnt titanium filament, agreeing to print and post a model with it. I have been working on making my woven basket code parametric so this was a good opportunity. I like the filament, though this model doesn't show it the best.

I haven't done any color lithophanes yet on my Bambu X1 since I can't figure out how to switch from 0.08 layer height to 0.05 at z=0.56 for aligned stl files in BambuStudio(derived from Prusaslicer). I'm hoping I'm just dense and not something that just can't be done.

Really happy with the way this one turned out. Weighs 159grams, only 37grams of waste. Color choice because my daughter moved to U of Michigan to start college this past week.

This is my real motivation for working on this #ringbowl concept. Because of the geometry of the rings you can do cool patterns with simple booleans. Plus it really cuts down on multicolor purges (saved 75% on this one vs all in one piece). @BambulabGlobal
