There's a ton of hype around AI coding super great, when in reality, AI only amplifies engineering disciplines (or lack thereof). To get good at AI-driven-development requires good disciplines, and, dare I say it, TDD, to have guardrails around the code. You still own the code.
i often feel like i am missing something with ai all these tweets claiming it is the greatest thing ever... yet, i dont see the same thing. I have a list of activities where its incredible at, but none of them at the writing of code, more comprehension only wtf is wrong with

It's defining the anonymous function, then executing it. What's not to get? 😅

It's still true, even with AI, small amounts of work done well frequently is better than a bunch of work done quickly with little-to-no validation.

When using tools like Claude Code, it helps to learn how to keep the scope small, feedback loops quick, and guardrails like TDD to keep your agents in check.

It's in coaching sessions, too, when showing GitHub Copilot features like a simple addition of the https://t.co/K2erhO4VkR file and all of a sudden the experience is way better. One of my fellow coaches calls it the "eye pops and jaw drops" when people see the difference.

Is it me or is it people that don't know how to use AI for coding that harp on it the most? I've seen more people recently, after showing them how I use Claude Code, see what it can do and even enjoy the process. My recommendation for agentic dev - "Try. Fail. Learn. Try again."

Was told that I do a gentle orchestration today in a meeting. (just kidding, it's "agental" or "agentile" not sure, but agent orchestration is the thing they were getting at). Anyways, fun making new words today. :D

Say a lot of things that are kind of important, but maybe not - we'll see. I also type a bit here and there, and tell jokes on occasion. Imagine the bad guy in The Matrix, but if he wasn't bad - I don't do that stuff, but now you're thinking about agents.

I prefer the term ChOP to "vibe coding", because one is descriptive and the other is polarizing. ChOP is Chat-Oriented Programming. You could say I've been developing my ChOPS. (S is Skills)
