i do find it interesting that these movies get the “shut up turn your brain off big fight is fun” defence when the MCU of present doesn’t. Both are worthy of the hate and defence I just wonder why one gets the easier time on twitter.

Asteroid City's "don't try to understand it, feel it" ethos would be a whole lot more admirable if Wes' micromanaged dollhouses didn't suffocate experiential emotion. As is, there's more to understand and analyze than there is to feel.
