Clarification - the plan was only to show the trash talk to "save ticks" and then obtain flags normally (but with speed) without an overlay. The trick was that we pretended we still needed to save ticks, and that hopefully nobody would notice we had more than we should saved up

In the finals we planned to start by trash talking, reveal the big secret, and then immediately/very quickly solving all of the flags with recordings but their were more+harder challenges than in previous rounds. So we only had time to trash talk once we finally knew we won 8/8

So the trash talk was never actually about trash talking, but a way to hide the fact that we had a super speed hack :) 7/8

Our tick hack broke the server in the semifinals so we started the match minutes late as we tried to start the client in panic, so we didn't have time to press the button. 6/8

This guarantees our victory while hopefully keeping other teams in the dark long enough for us to exclusively have the vulnerability in the finals 5/8

Between each challenge we restart the client and show the next trash talk message, making sure to "explain" we were saving ticks 4/8

So we came up with a cover story. Our goal was to solve+record solutions to the challenges in the pregame. Then we would start the client and show trash talk for 30 seconds. Enough time that teams wouldn't suspect anything, but less than it actually took to solve challenges 3/8

The night before the finals we discovered our infinite tick hack. But we didn't want to burn it in the semifinals. We had to make sure neither the other teams watching nor the Google team understood that we had infinite speed while watching us play. 2/8
