This is a deserved recognition of outstanding contributions to sports economics. I’m very lucky to know Dennis - as my academic co-advisor, colleague, mentor, and friend. His support, guidance and trolling have shaped not only my research but also my approach to academic life.
We are excited to announce the creation of the Coates-Humphreys NAASE Distinguished Research Award, with Dennis Coates and Brad Humphreys as the inaugural winners. It will be given in odd-numbered years (the Hadley Award is given in even-numbered years). Congrats Brad & Dennis!.

The study examines the impact of high-pressure situations, such as overtime rounds, on player performance in esports. Using data from professional CS:GO matches over a decade, we found a significant drop in individual performance during overtime, particularly in live settings.
