More recently, misinformation and propaganda have become overwhelming. Negativity and bullying are brutal. The latest changes made by the new owner seem ego driven and bleh. So I’m leaving with gratitude for the friends I’ve made and things I’ve learned.

Over the years, the algorithm changed, people moved on, Twitter chats became less fun, but news was available and fast here. I changed my habits and checked for news and followed fact checkers.

When I didn’t know how to market or manage a website, my friends in #usguys generously helped me, logging onto Skype to fix errors and give me advice.

When I started my business and knew next to nobody, I found kindred spirits through hashtags. I met some of the most awesome friends and business collaborators I still connect with today through discussions in 140 characters.

I loved you Twitter. When I got bored and felt like there wasn’t the development or outlet for me to learn, share, and grow, @LisaPetrilli and the #leadershipchat community were my lifeline.

So long Twitter. It’s been fun. Thought I’d share some gratitude for what you used to be before I shut ‘er down. A thread. Is it still called that?
