The runaway condescension of this NYT editorial is impressive. Basically: abandon all your bold ideas, purge your staff of anyone associated with DSA, make nice with the rich and cave on zionism and we’ll leave you alone. Well, I guess we’ll see!

“In the last year of his life, Poplavsky was infatuated with Hölderlin’s ‘madness’. In the 1930s, he was regularly institutionalised at the psychiatric asylum Sainte-Anne, the same clinic where Lacan met Artaud in 1937/38...another meeting point between Poplavsky and Bataille."

really good book
rereading this. already dated but clark is such an enjoyable writer and does such a masterful job synthesizing the 'problem of nature' within this particular moment of late 2000s/early 2010s critical philosophy/spec realism/OOO without ever getting too kooky with it. a nice read
