Just to be clear, Full Moons impart no more (or less) gravity or tidal forces on Earth than any other phase. The very high (and very low) tides we see during Full Moons come from the Sun’s tidal forces adding directly to the Moon’s.

Thinking back to my time in South Africa, where many of my works including: CLOUDY, Bearings Down, and Phantasmagoria originated from. Let this be a reminder that creative curiosity has no end, it's just up to you to decide where you'll allow it to take you. #PaulaCrownAtelier

“a Monogoto niwa taitei ura no ura ga aru mono da” which translates to, “in most things generally there is a reverse to the reverse.” Reminder that every day has a night, every side has another. We will push on. - Artwork: Reverse Side (2021) #PaulaCrownAtelier

In April we both celebrate, and recognize the importance of: Earth Month, National Stress Awareness Month, and also, National Month of Hope. These past few years have left us living in a state of uncertainty, but throughout it all, I've come back to this Japanese proverb:

My series, KINEMATIC, is a manifestation of our relationship with the environment & also with others. Representing a moment in flow, this series acts as reminder that awareness & empathy are necessary to create an improved relationship with our surroundings.

Art offers both a form of escapism, and also a snap back to the present moment. Though it feels that we’re constantly overwhelmed with ongoing chatter, we must still pay attention. #PaulaCrown #PaulaCrownAtelier #Abstract #AbstractArt #EarthMonth #KINEMATIC #PresentMoment

Through expression & exploration, we collectively process our inner states. My Buddha series investigates the ability to rise again, find our way back to hope, & understand how we can continually do better. #PaulaCrown #PaulaCrownAtelier #AbstractArt #Buddha #MomentOfPause

Atelic. This may be a word you’ve heard or seen once, or not at all—but to me, it is everything. It’s who I am, and what my work is: an ongoing process without a true end.

Thinking back to CLOUDY on exhibit at the @AndersonRanch public art exhibition. I'm grateful to have had these sculptures on exhibit in this space, allowing visitors to fully locate themselves within the present moment through the reflections of the sculptures themselves.

Yesterday, Today, Tomorrow...what can we learn today that we didn't have time for yesterday? Every day we reorganize to work towards order from the disorder and to be curious in the process. Image: Yesterday Today Tomorrow, 2015, Encaustic on wood panel, 12 × 12 × 1/2 inches

Everything we do in this life once started with the creation of a mark—and that mark can look and feel and present itself in so many different ways. My question to you: how will you make your mark today? #PaulaCrown #PaulaCrownAtelier
