The kids and I were out front shoveling the end of the driveway this evening. An older woman on her walk passed by and told the kids how good of a job they were doing. They, after light prodding from me, responded like normal people - telling her thank you and doing all the goofy

For those curious - the tune behind the video is "Wouldn't it be loverly" played by Fred Hersch. Beautiful playing. Hard to not just, kind of, sigh.

Love this coffee maker. Makes it real quick and reliable and has lasted us some years at this point without any replacement necessary.

Remember how thin the steering wheels used to be? I remember because I drove a car from the 70s when I was young. They were so small and smooth. A lot of of weird little things have gotten bigger in recent years. Stuff like steering wheels, coffee mugs, random things.

Styrofoam is one of those things that was much more common when I was a kid but feels much less prevalent today. Kind of forget about it.

Part of the reason having kids is an important thing for societies - beyond just the, you know, continuing the human race - is the fact that it forces people to buy into the future with a meaningful stake in it. You are much less likely to want to "burn it down" or operate with
