Reflections about being racially profiled/harassed (PART 1) I was racially profiled and harassed February 3rd (close to 5:30pm) near Seaview Road opposite Gracefield Road, Lower Hutt, Wellington. #racism #harassment

I know many of us are worried about what the new government could mean for the least well off, for our work on climate, on cities and the risk it could embolden more dehumanising behaviour in our society. I also know many of us are ready to do everything we can to resist this.

Another wāhine politician who refuses to go on Mike Hosking's show. I wonder if it has anything to do with him being a misogynistic git?

It makes my heart heavy to know that Christopher Luxon wants to bring offshore oil and gas exploration back to Aotearoa. But I’m reminded that, not long ago, hundreds of thousands of people took matters into their own hands and fought those companies off one by one.

On preliminary results the Green Party has won the party vote in Wellington Central with 36.08% to Labour’s 25.95%. I think this is the first time the Greens have ever won the party vote in any electorate. The Greens got more party votes than National, ACT and NZ First combined.

I do not accept that Te Tiriti o Waitangi, or its interpretation, should ever be subject to a popularity contest. The promises made are to stand in perpetuity. If you are Pākehā or tauiwi, I sincerely hope you will stand up and make your voices heard. History will be watching.

Very true. We must find a strategy for opposition, protest and progress. And that means everyone other left moving towards true progressive policies and not tinkering around the edges.

Probably will be an unpopular take, but I think it would be nice if people on the left didn’t snark at each other for like one day. Everyone is tired, lots of people are disappointed, and there’s going to be harder times ahead.

A Muslim child in Chicago murdered by an Islamophobic anti-Palestinian racist. This was enabled by every politician and every media outlet that peddles racism and Islamophobia. This is the end result of your bigotry. Rest in Peace Wadea Al-Fayoume.

We are shocked and disturbed to learn that a landlord in Chicago expressing anti-Muslim and anti-Palestinian views broke into a Muslim family's apartment and attacked them with a knife, injuring the mother and killing her 6-year-old son, Wadea Al-Fayoume. @cairchicago will hold a

@keraoregan @rawhitip_ Also that’s not how MMP works? The problem wasn’t Labour voters changing to Green/TPM, but Labour voters changing to NACT 🤦‍♂️ Sigh. I appreciate that we have MMP so we CAN vote for parties like Greens/TPM!!

I concur with @Taitoa_Wihone Māori carried the left this election. Y’all do better and start actually listening to us instead of having your policy teams think they’re smarter than everybody. Labour lost us the election. Labour put Luxon in power. Not us.

I really hope Labour does not start blaming Greens and Te Pāti Māori. They must look at why the lost so much support.

We lost because: - Labour was insipid & didn’t stand behind their record - The right had money coming out of their ears - A credulous media treated parties like ACT seriously instead of like fascists - NZ is racist & hates poor people That last one is the hardest to stomach 💔
