i think outis and ryoshu could have some interesting parallels in regards to their respective failings as parents once both of their cantos are said and done. i'm excited to see if outis has anything to say in shu's canto that could elude to telemachus too

the replies here are good! i'm horrible with articulating myself, i was just frustrated seeing people equate outis and ryoshu through the lens of motherhood when outis never actually got to raise her child. ty for helping me put thoughts to paper lol
i find it interesting how hints to outisโ story keeps circling back to her loved one (penelope), while ryoshuโs centers on motherhood (ego/IDs, lei heng taunting her about her baby). outisโ "family" gets mentioned a lot, but never a child specifically. it feels deliberate
