Heads Up! Dollar spot and Leaf spot are both active. With the cold wet weather on the horizon I would make sure my leaf spot protection was solid and get back ahead of the dollar spot inoculum. When the weather turns back to summer dollar spot will come back with a vengeance!

I am not surprised that when a large, robust study was finally conducted, it does not replicate the negative claims regarding soil health. This is often the case surrounding this “hot-topic“ herbicide. Lots of “weak science” and misquotes associated with the fear mongering.

Fall armyworms are in Virginia again. After catching FAW moths in our pheromone traps in early August, we now have a bad infestation in our sweet corn in Whitethorne VA. Not sure if this FAW strain will also damage turf or not. Be alert. Scout your plots. @VAturf @TheVTF
