@ $18,000 paid FIRE event @ OU 'celebrating' "free speech" media was contractually restricted (in addition to the audience) in asking Q&A. Everyone should ASAP read Orwell's '1984' & Newspeak about how controlling language & free speech works & compare.

Wow! OU paid $18,000 (close to or a significant % of annual salaries for many working at OU) for an ideological topic popular on the political right about supposed 'cancel culture.' No questions were allowed after hearing the actual talk on "free speech.".

Another unheard question @ OU/FIRE talk. F.Y.I., FIRE opposes DEI statements. Why isn't it free speech to express alleged "orthodoxies" within DEI statements as FIRE argues? Isn't opposing any free speech on campus cancel culture?.

If it chills, curtails, or compels expression, it's a free speech problem.

Just 2 questions unheard @ OU/FIRE academic talk: 1) How does cancel culture differ from social consequences of having unpopular ideas & opinions? 2) Is it cancel culture to post video of OU professor’s "Anti-Racist Rhetoric & Pedagogies” workshop causing severe online backlash?.

So, University of Oklahoma (OU) sponsors a very questionable speech on "cancel culture" by F.I.R.E. & then screens prior questions and doesn't allow people to ask questions & engage in free speech after *hearing* this speech. Wow!!!!!.
