Normally, services aren't considered strong growth drivers because they are simultaneously produced and consumed. Baumol's classic example is that it took a string quartet exactly the same amount of time to play a piece in 1965 as it did in 1865. 2/

Excited to share this paper!. The key takeaway is that the workplace is another arena in which AI reproduces existing inequalities: AI-related harms inflicted on gig/low-waged workers remain unresolved at a higher rate than those inflicted on professionals/high-waged workers.
