Anyways! I’m so appreciative that others enjoy my work too! My goal is always to make others feel something when they see what I create - over the things that I also love and feel a lot for! 🥹.

& I think that had a role in my preference for creating fan art over original work. So overall, this led to what I create today - realistically anime styled illustrations that hit you in the gut with feelings 😂 3 things that I love merged into one 🫶🏻.

I would say my ability to copy what I saw was above average, as I relied so much more on my observational skills than things from my mind. I gained my satisfaction more from copying things perfectly than from creating from my mind,.

As for learning how to draw, reflecting back it made sense for me as well. I don’t think it makes much of a difference except I relied very very heavily on references when drawing. I copied what I saw, and loved the ‘anime’ style - so I learned how to draw ‘good anime’ styled art.

I find simplistic/casual illustrations more difficult to create because there’s no feeling that hits me in the gut 😂.

What I see is just gray/nothing. I map a lot of things out by how it made me feel during the particular time. As for drawing, it’s strange to say but when thinking of compositions, feelings of what I want to portray ‘hit me’ and I try to illustrate that feeling it left me.

Aphantasia I think is a bit different from person to person in how they operate in their mind without visual information. For me, if I’ve seen it before, and you ask me to imagine it, I remember a list of details of the object and I just ‘know’ that that’s the object -.

A few years ago i discovered I had aphantasia. As an artist, people often ask ‘how do you draw if you can’t imagine?’ and honestly I couldn’t give an answer because it was just normal to me - I was more surprised that others can imagine vividly in colours and such.
