We have simplified the interface, now Splitscreen has only one address bar to work with. This also makes other features easier to use in Splitscreen, like accessing bookmarks or taking full - screen snapshots.

Split Screen now supports up to 4 tabs at once. You can choose vertical, horizontal or grid layouts, making the most use of the available screen space.

All sidebar functionality is available with Gmail and Google Calendar: you can resize the panel you need or pin it to use while browsing.

We’re adding Gmail and Google Calendar to the sidebar, both requested heavily by you guys. They’re not enabled by default, but you can switch them on instantly from the sidebar setup.

How to opt in: • Update to the latest version (check “About Opera”). • Click the Aria icon in the sidebar. • Hit “Upgrade” on the banner. • Restart Opera when prompted. • After restarting, you’ll see the Ask AI button in your toolbar.

Additional new functionalities: Voice input and output, meaning speech-to-text and text-to-speech capabilities; file analysis, such as images or supported file types like spreadsheets, video, audio & more; snapshot tool for your generated results and wallpaper generation.

Privacy & control: You have to enable Opera AI and give it permission to read the page you’re on. It only understands the context of that specific page or its Tab Island. It never sends your general browsing activity or history to our AI engine.

Contextual responses: Opera AI understands the webpage or Tab Island you’re on, so it can give answers based on what you’re browsing. It even works on YouTube, summarising long videos or translating captions on the spot.

Improved UI: With the new access point to Ask AI on the top-right corner of the browser, you now get access to the new dedicated space for the AI interface in the browser that’s no longer appearing on top of your content, but as a side panel you can interact with whenever you
