The goal is quit your job with an idea worth dedicating your life to and 12 months of runway to get started. For Garrett, it worked!

He also used his employed time to find an idea that was worth it: "I want to use that time to kind of shut down all these other things and instead think really deeply about the future and try to decide what do I want to sink the next two decades of my life into?"

The job was a major cash flow increase for Garrett. He didn't let his lifestyle expand to consume it: "I was making more money than I ever made in my entire life, it was bananas. There was a temptation to raise my lifestyle. Instead I just banked the excess."

Garrett gave himself 2 years before he had to quit and try something: "I have to leave in two years. Cause it's so easy, especially when you're progressing in something, just continue to stay in that."

Garrett set 3 rules for going full-time without giving up on his founder dreams: ⏰Choose a decision deadline. 💵Save for your runway. 💡Find THE idea.

Garrett graduated with an engineering degree and realized he needed to learn about business. After working on software projects and contracting he got offered a job! He needed a way to take the job without giving up on his dream...
