People keep making cool stuff with OpenSeadragon! I've been collecting links to add to the "In The Wild" page for years, but I keep not getting around to updating it. Here's the collection: Anyone want to bring some of them over to update the page? 😄.

The New York Times just published a piece using OpenSeadragon: . They challenge you to slow down and spend 10 minutes with the painting, exploring it on your own. Afterwards they tell you more, giving you context to add to your own observations.

New OpenSeadragon recipe: Zoom out to center. The default OpenSeadragon zoom always honors the zoom location so zoom in and zoom out are symmetrical actions. This example shows how to make the zoom out center the image instead, if preferred.

New OpenSeadragon recipe: a heat map in the navigator to show the history of where the user has traveled in the image. What recipes do you have? Let me know, and I'll help share them!.

We've just merged (not yet released) a big upgrade to the OpenSeadragon data cache and pipeline. If your project does any modification of image data, you'll definitely want to know about this. We'd love if you could test the new version!

We've just merged in a major change! OpenSeadragon now uses WebGL when available! This is not yet released, but you can try it out if you build from master. We'd love to get people using it early to make sure it's solid!

New addition to the FAQ: What do the zoom values mean? This comes up from time to time as a point of confusion.

We've started an FAQ on the Wiki, probably long overdue! Let us know if there are more answers that should go there. 😊.
