🛌 21 days of bed rest alter motor unit discharge rates. Interestingly, the findings obtained from HDsEMG have been confirmed also by intramuscular EMG. Analyses done with the @openhdemg library 💻 🔥.

Motor unit discharge rate was reduced after bed rest at both 25% and 50% MVC, as assessed by HDsEMG (data analyzed using @openhdemg). Validation with iEMG 🪡 confirmed these findings. Disuse affects neural drive, not just muscle!.🧵3/8
