The Olympic National Forest Quilcene Office has closed for the remainder of Wednesday Feb. 5 due to weather conditions. The Quilcene Office will reopen on next Tuesday Feb. 11 weather and staffing permitting.

These permits are available for sale until the quota is reached at the Forest Supervisor's Office in Olympia, Wash., during walk in service hours Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

The are still 20 permits available for harvesting salal in Mason County in the Mount Walker, Hamma Hamma, Weather Wax, and Vance Brown areas.

Due to unexpected circumstances, Salal Permit sales at the Quinault office were cancelled today as the quota for the Pacific District has been reached.

The Fletcher Canyon Trail and Trailhead are inaccessible due to washout on S. Shore Road 8 miles north of the turnoff from HWY 101 at MP 1.3. All other sites remain open including Quinault Office, Quinault Rainforest Trail System, day use sites and Colonel Bob Wilderness.
