Senate has started an initiative for their No Place for Hate Campaign, the Take What You Need board! When you need something kind to hear to brighten up your day while feeling down, take a slip of paper with a kind phrase on it :)

February 4th is Rosa Parks Day in honour of her activism and her involvement in the civil rights movement. This is just some brief information on Rosa Parks so please take a moment some time today to look into her history and her role as a civil rights activist.

Remember that you deserve a break for all the hard work that you’ve put into this quad. Have a bubble bath, take a mental health day, treat yourself to something you normally wouldn’t. You need to take care of yourself before you can take care of others.

⁃As a way to end off the kindness challenges this month, the 4th and final week is all about practicing some self care. Helping those around you can be draining sometimes and you also need to be looked after.

It will be during lunch in the front foyer and we encourage you to bring your own mugs and thermoses but styrofoam cups will also be available. Swing by on Thursday for a warm cup of hot cocoa!

We all know it’s starting to feel like winter out there and to keep us warm during this colder weather, Senate will be handing out hot chocolate on Thursday the 25th as a random act of senate.

Try your best to be more environmentally friendly in your day to day life whether that be bringing your own grocery bags or remembering to recycle. Good luck with the challenge Crusaders and keep up the great work!!

In continuation of our kindness challenges, it’s now onto week 3 and the initiative this week is to help out your community. With the snow slowly coming, maybe offer some help shovelling drive ways and donating your time.

Tomorrow will be our Pink T-shirt day and it will also be a pink add on day if you didn’t purchase or don’t own a pink t-shirt already. Uniform bottoms will still be required. Can’t wait to see all the pink tomorrow! #pinkshirtday 💕

Now anti-bullying programs and Pink T-shirt Day are implemented in schools across the world in order to raise awareness for this issue. So when you wear your pink shirt this Thursday know that it all started from one random act of kindness.

As many of us heard from our guest speaker yesterday, Michel Chikwanine, Pink T-shirt Day originated from an act of kindness made by two boys in Nova Scotia. They took a stand against bullying and decided that that one single action was not enough.
