This was a great night. 7 years ago at Sundown at Granada in Dallas, Texas. Youth DJing. Jaz and Geordie and Big Paul hanging out like locals. Spoke with all of them and it was wonderful. Great memories from a brilliant band we’ll never see play live again. Dancing to music

A quote from Marcus Manilius’ ASTRONOMICON (ca 40 CE) that I used as an epigraph in my first poetry collection, 2017’s DESTRUCTION: TEXT I (from which this picture is taken). Theory is that #HPLovecraft got the idea for his #NECRONOMICON from Manilius’ work. #astronomicon

Happy belated 64th Birthday to cosmic horror schizo-punk outsider artist NICK BLINKO. A martian among men. (In the best way.) His bday was yesterday, September 4th, 2025.. 🎂 🖤 I’ll probably give the ARCHAIC (2004) EP a spin today. That EP is 21 years old as of last year!

New Substack piece about Alfred Lichtenstein's more ghoulish poems. Includes his "The Fog," which treads similar thematic territory to Stephen King, John Carpenter, and John Herbert's fog/mist-themed stuff. In 1931, Walter Benjamin wrote that Lichtenstein's poetry was tantamount

Recently came across (and have here translated) this prescient German #scifi short story about AI and replicants, from the 1910s! “Automaton,” by Hermann Kasack from 1916, broaches the idea of android “duplicates” superseding mankind. This may be its first appearance in English

I wrote “Entropy Engine” in early 2024. It’s one of 84 new poems in #TheFuneralColony. “’The heavens roll open (here, the membrane splits) / In the operating theater of infinity— / But heaven was become a morgue of broken theorems. / God’s tumors bloom like black orchids, / And

JUST NOW on my Substack: Georg Trakl’s nightmare-meditation on the dark spirit(s) of Autumn. From Summer’s slow death to Autumn’s crisp twilight—to the apocalypse of man in November’s grey borderland, Trakl’s verse is “haunted by the ‘cold radiance’ of death,” to quote a review.
