Arundhati Roy on Israel🇮🇱 “No matter what crimes it committed, it grew up like a protected child in a wealthy home, whose parents smile proudly as it commits atrocity upon atrocity. No wonder today it feels free to boast openly about committing genocide.” https://t.co/2gQ8pOfuSX

.@propublica is doing some incredible work focusing on the dire consequences of a Trump win. This is the information voters are craving, not the latest poll results. Be sure to read & share. This stuff is important. It's also really good journalism.
New: From cutting children's disability benefits to allowing employers to pocket workers' tips, Trump tried to slash protections for the working poor in ways that have been forgotten by many.

grateful to @acmrs_asu and @Throughlines_ for wanting to know more about where Indigenous Shakespeare productions fit into the wider landscape of the Contemporary Native Theatre movement, history, erasure, resilience, and some of the many Native artists work involved.
.@MadelineSayet offers a fascinating and profound timeline of the Indigenizing Shakespeare Movement, and how it has intertwined with her own creative practice. Find her whole feature here: https://t.co/5JylqDKUQp

Listen to this gorgeous Ay Hairathe Aashiqui cover by Parth Chandiramani and Apoorva Krishna. This stripped down version really highlights the very many different musical styles Rahman weaves into the original - ghazal, carnatic, even celtic! ❤️

Seeing lots of posts on my timeline about the new academic year, people starting new jobs, PhD programmes, etc. A reminder that 1000s of Palestinian staff and students are unable to start the new academic year because of Israel’s ongoing scholasticide & genocide

The sheriff featured by Democrats last night is same sheriff we recently sued over taking cash from private equity-owned telecom companies to eliminate the ability of children to visit their parents in jail, on the theory that families would spend more money on monopoly calls.

Incredibly thankful to every single person at @uncommittedmvmt for creating a vehicle to apply pressure using all the levers available to us. While there’s a lot of conversations about the speaker slot, it was a culmination of months of intense work. Thread 👇🏼1/

Imagine if the “good guys” believed genocide was bad. Imagine if the “love thy neighbor” folks didn’t trust the police. Imagine if the “joy” people didn’t supply bombs and cover.

The first case of #Polio in more than 25 years, but no one will care because the baby is Palestinian. I'm so saddened and ashamed of our country looking away and pretending they are trying to stop this madness. We don't want your thoughts and prayers. We need action.
10 month old baby. As in: a child born into war, whose only experience of life is war, becoming paralyzed from war. Life itself defined by war, and now suspended by war.

Many academics have told me they didn't know about the boycott: spread the word. I'll post the link to the letter below. https://t.co/PssUXyOOsI

Over 1,400 academics from around the world have signed a letter committing to an academic boycott of events “held at or officially sponsored by Columbia University and Barnard College” in solidarity...

With regret but full solidarity, I have pulled out of a speaking event this fall @Columbia University. The student suspensions continue as does punitive behaviour towards staff. 1400 academics signed a boycott letter in the early summer, & until things change, we must stay firm.
