A very special @NorthantsCCC birthday today - the club's first captain Jim Kingston was born OTD in 1857. One of eight brothers to play for the County (the family is in the Hall of Fame) and a man of letters to boot. I told his story in 'Faces on a Wall' from @PitchPublishing

A very happy 54th birthday to one of my favourite cricketers and favourite people - Richard Montgomerie #371. Spent most of the 1990s with @NorthantsCCC and his release in 1998 still rankles with me, if not with him! Then stacks of runs for @SussexCCC and now teaching at Eton.

Also eclipsed today - Bob Haywood. His 153 v Gloucestershire in 1911 no longer the highest score by a No 8 for @NorthantsCCC - beaten by Justin Broad's 157 not out at Canterbury. Haywood, though, still holds the record for most 100s in a season - eight, in 1921. @zaib_05. ?
