Former coast guard, can confirm. Went to a Navy school, and after they got their usual jokes and prodding in, I would ask how much they deployed. In less than 5 years, I hit every continent, my last 3 years I deployed on average of 8 months out of the year. - puddle pirate.
This is something a lot of non-veterans are completely unaware of. Within the veteran community, there are tiers. And it's a constant dick measuring contest to prove which tier you belong in.
