Lawrence Leathers, a steadfast presence in modern jazz and a Grammy-winning drummer, was reportedly killed on Sunday at the age of 37. Police say they've arrested a suspect.

We are deeply saddened and shocked by the passing of our beloved Pee Wee Ellis. He came into Ronnie's last week, his home from home, and was his usual joyous self. We were looking forward to celebrating his 80th with his band. All our thoughts are with Charlotte and his family.
