Also, for the author of that article to assume not a single doctor enters into medicine would do so if they “hated patients” is a bold claim. I believe tons of doctors enter into medicine for anything but bedside manner.

It’s not that I think “doctors hate patients”. It’s that I think doctors are far too burnt out and they see so much many- (not all)- have lost touch with reality regarding patient pain. American medicine has lost its way entirely. Women especially and POC are ignored most.

I got written off for PCOS for more than a decade because I was told and I quote “you’re an obese black woman.” I’ve never been obese and I’m only half black. My PCOS went untreated for so long that I now have a huge hormonal imbalance that caused a chronic illness.
The number of people who believe doctors “hate” patients is heartbreaking. No one goes into medicine because they despise patients, what a vile assumption. Are doctors perfect? No. We are human. We make mistakes. Many of us are stretched thin. But at our core, many of us are.
