A few weeks ago, we came across this spectacular yellow-backed duiker (Cephalophus silvicultor) in Gashaka Gumti National Park. They have the largest body size of the forest dwelling duiker family (the size of a small cow) and a perfect example of the kind of prey supporting

In 2024, @NASA recorded one of the smallest Antarctic ozone holes since the early 1990s. These milestones show us that global challenges can be solved when science guides policy and nations act together. Let’s keep protecting our shared sky for people, wildlife, and the planet.

📊 Key progress at a glance: Since the Montreal Protocol (1987), over 99% of ozone-depleting chemicals have been phased out globally. The ozone hole over Antarctica is projected to close by 2066, while most regions could return to pre-1980 levels by the 2040s.

Elephants are never meant to walk alone they live in herds for protection & survival. If this one is truly alone, it may be the last of its kind in Andoni. When the forest is gone, wildlife has no choice but to walk into our towns. And that puts both the animal & people at risk.
