Oh, and this story is set in the early 1990s, so there's plenty for those of us nostalgic for that time. Grunge music, CDs, MTV, Yoohoo, hypercolor shirts - it's all in there! And of course Taiwanese food :) Hope the world likes it when it comes out in a year! 🎸💿🇹🇼.

Plus, Lily learns more about her own family and the Taiwanese history they left behind in the 1980s, when the country was still under martial law and censorship. Taiwan's history is so little understood, and I wanted to showcase it.
