For those who care about #recycling & getting @wandbc to do more about it (that is, helping tax payers to be able to recycle more easily), here's a #petition to sign. Our council is currently 6th from the bottom among the 32 London Boroughs 😤 https://t.co/Y6AI9uZJvu

Wandsworth Council has the 6th worst household recycling rate in the country. Sign this petition to demand that the Council improves the local recycling rate by piloting a weekly separate food waste...

The proposals are to cut all the staff posts and ‘integrate’ the centre into the nursery. This will mean loss of many services including stay and play. It is in all essence a closure. And you call me mendacious @melanieham20?!
@emily_wintle why are you pedalling this when you have been told that it is not closing? This is mendacious and unnecessarily upsetting residents.

But never mind as Cllr Graham explains, a children's centre isn't really very useful anyway. It's not as if, an expensive external survey we commissioned a couple of years ago revealed this was one of the busiest children's centres and that stay & play was very important.

More children's centre closure news! Triangle Children's Centre to get the axe. Thanks to Cllr P. Graham for clarifying, completely accurately (ahem) that this is the fault of some pesky judges who, er, specifically said we COULD use buildings on the commons for Stay & Play.

Yes, yes this is a new approach not the latest in a long line of 'reorganisations' that have seen Wandsworth children's centres turned into private nurseries & crazy golf courses.
Thrive represents a new approach to services in Wandsworth for families with young children. It aims to address inequalities and give families the help they need, when they need it. Let us know what you think via our online consultation https://t.co/dCzNGLCsNq

Lovely to hear that conservative Councillor Dr Byrne fully embraced the spirit of our new 'Diversity Month' at last night's commitee meeting by sharing his p̶r̶e̶j̶u̶d̶i̶c̶e̶s̶ ̶a̶b̶o̶u̶t̶ knowledge of the Travelling community.

Apalling sensationalism by the press about our rebranding of 'Black History month' as 'diversity month'. Residents are advised that "this is simply a name change...which has not affected the wide ranging celebration of black history" via events such as, er, Italian story time.

News from last night's finance committee on how our wonderful Wandsworth conservatives will deliver on their recent election promises of low council tax and better services with, um, council tax increases and service cuts #cutscutscuts

Wandsworth doing well again! 4th biggest gap between the number of affordable homes built and the number that should have been built if we'd stuck to the 40% target for London.

You mean we can't just withold information because it will generate adverse publicity and debate? Damn it.
Last August @CllrSimonHogg at @wandbc published this letter sent out by the Conservative Controlled Council https://t.co/OSbtzlrj8z The following response is one of the most curious public interest defense. It's a PR statement not public interest test. https://t.co/ScrQSwRqXQ

What's 1,300 flats between f̶r̶i̶e̶n̶d̶s̶ council press officer and journalist? About £5m in cost to council leaseholders that's what. Easy mistake to make.
The BBC tell me that the @wandbc press office told them that only 1000 of the 6400 flats in 10+ storey blocks were leasehold rather than the true figure of 2300 and only corrected it when I gave them the real figure. Make of it what you will.

Wandsworth Common's Councillor Peter Graham can be hard to locate if you are a ward resident with an issue. Sharpen your Peter spotting skills by finding him in this photo. #fridayfun #wheresPeter

Ah, some lovely coverage of the close friendship between our great Council leader and property lobbyist Peter Bingle in today's newspapers.

Much excitement as crowds gather outside the Town Hall in the hope of catching a rare glimpse of Wandsworth Common's Cllr Peter Graham, who will hopefully remember to attend tonight's Housing committee meeting.
Crowd already gathering to show opposition to @wandbc's plan to impose sprinklers on high rise blocks even though it could make fire risks worse.

Paging @peter_graham.
Anyone seen Cllr Peter Graham? He’s due to be at Earlsfield Library for the Tory shared Wandsworth Common/Earlsfield surgery. Residents are waiting and the Librarian can’t contact him so she’s called us. We do twice monthly so come along next Saturday or email us.

Work on Earlsfield Rail bridge is now being carried out. Unlike back in May when we said it was "currently being carried out" but it wasn't being carried out at all. This time it is really being carried out honest.
Overnight work now being carried out by @networkrail to clean both bridges at #Earlsfield Station ahead of repainting in heritage 'railway green' as part of long-awaited refurbishment scheme to restore original Victorian-era appearance https://t.co/T2aa2ZwPS4
