A whole lot of my goals used to be aspirational, without an understanding of how easily that could slip into envy. I’m really just trying to get to what God has for me. For what’s meant for me.

I’m not always concerned with a finished product, that’s a bonus for me. The beauty in art has been the “aha!” moment. That comes after untold hours of learning, trying and failing. It might not be worth it for everyone. But for me, that’s what keeps me practicing daily.

There’s a few practical uses for AI in art and music but for my purposes, a lot of those uses rob me of the feelings that have kept me making things.

The part of me that’s the most engaged with music is the need to figure out how things work. If it’s gear, music theory, mixing, the roots of a genre, I’m always gunna take it apart and learn why it works.
