πŸ‘€πŸ‘€πŸ‘€ you can now use expo over-the-air updates in any react native app! 🌈🌈🌈 🏁 `npm i -g expo-cli && expo init` to create a project with expo-updates installed & configured. this video shows how you can test it locally with release builds πŸ“Ί

what you see there is the most basic functionality! you can have full control over how it works, more info in the readme. give it a try! this is our first public release with support outside of expo managed workflow so we need feedback!

@karan_6864 @satya164 it uses the tools we built for supporting updates in managed expo apps. not everyone can use the managed workflow for their apps, so we've been making it possible to use parts of the sdk as needed in any react-native app. updates is the most recent one!

@notbrent But what does Apple think of this? I’ve seen issues that apps using Microsoft Codepush are rejected.

@notbrent Looks great! Is there anything to keep in mind here that might operate differently than CodePush?
