As always, analytics hold very little value when the answer is popular/intuitive. The value is in finding solutions that guesswork alone would not have uncovered

The main reason fans dislike analytics is that it requires knowing things, which takes work and time and is therefore inherently restrictive ANYbody can guess based on what feels right, which makes “intuition” more accessible and satisfying, even if it’s objectively wrong
The 2 pt conversation is this Philly trailed by 15 That’s a 2 score game slightly less than 50% of time (2pt success rate) It’s a 3 score game the remaining % You want to know as early as possible how many possessions you need. That’s why you go for 2 down 9 It’s not

TV shows rarely succeed or fail based on the strength of their premise. For every 30 Rock, there's a Studio 60. For every Game of Thrones, there's a Rings of Power. One sentence isn't going to tell you whether a show is The Wire or if it's Cocaine Cowboys.
I’m trying to trust the early reviews saying the new vince gilligan show is good, but the premise is so painfully quirk chungus /r/writingprompts networkslop coded that I’m having a hard time keeping the faith

I can personally vouch for a dozen of these - from the genius silverware storage, to the perfect leggings with 70+ reviews, to the hands-down best pillows on earth.

I WISH there were better bundled options BUT this works out to 53c/game, and doesn't count that if you have Prime/NBC/ABC/ESPN you get access to all of those libraries If you are starting from scratch and want to watch 1230 games, it is expensive. That does not seem crazy to me

I think what both sides are failing to understand here is that New York is home to a special kind of corner store/deli hybrid called a “bodega.” These unassuming little markets are home to some of the best grub in the city — and sometimes a cat!
Queens bodega named ‘Gaza Deli and Grill’ ignites fear among Jewish New Yorkers — including Oct. 7 survivor: ‘I’m still not safe’ https://t.co/cCy6zc9rzz

“Women don’t need men” cool let’s see what you do when a line comes up in a movie that was actually improvised and there’s nobody to lean over and ask you did you know that line was actually improvised

When the price tag is scarier than the procedure, there's an issue. Protect your health and your budget with a tax-free HSA from HSABank. For the first time ever, Bronze plans are now HSA eligible.

I know, I know the "ball knowers" will think this is nerd blasphemy, but Bane is probably better than Ja right now and is definitely a much better fit for the Magic.

Imagine how good Paul Skenes' numbers would be if he ever got to face the Pirates

If I’m checking out first thing in the morning, giving the hotel a heads up lets them know they can clean the room and maybe gets somebody else a check-in a couple hours early. Why not perform a courtesy that takes literally a minute?
Boomers will literally wait in a hotel line to tell someone at the front desk that they are "checking out" instead of just going home.

Not only is he correct here, most of the people who say “eye test” aren’t even properly applying that. They watch some of their favorite teams and then cherry picked clips online, and even THEN they’re just watching the ball.
Rudy Gobert when asked about the narrative surrounding small ball lineups and that being a problem for him to defend. "Obviously they've seen that clip of the stepback a thousand times. So did I. That's one clip amongst a lot of other defensive possessions. I know a lot of

Like yes it led to some pretty humorous misunderstandings but in retrospect probably not worth it

Aaron Wiggins giving me real Mikal Bridges vibes. Dunno if the defense is at the same level but he would put up some real numbers if he wasn't on such a loaded team

Love the notion of an algorithm that is sophisticated enough to locate and throttle any version of the word “kill” but is completely fooled by the word “unalive.” The logic has a real Air Bud quality to it

Wish there was more off-ball actions in the NBA? Allow me to introduce you to Tyrese Haliburton, who has cut off more flare screens than entire teams. On how IND builds actions to their base plays, with off-ball movement enhancing (not being replaced by) the PnR. Link in🧵

I’m remember when oldheads mocked analytics in basketball and said three point shooting teams couldn’t win Now those same oldheads are complaining that only three point shooting teams can win and that analytics are bad because they’re too powerful, make it make sense

I know what you're thinking and yes, i did consider calling it outtiewear. but this is serious business, not an opportunity for wordplay based frippery.
