4/ Necessary work: the zk-SNARK attests that the block’s transactions are consistent with prior state. Blocks become proofs of valid state transitions. This makes verification cheap and enables light clients that don't have to replay history.

3/ Security on Nockchain comes from proofpower: the aggregate proving throughput of miners. Honest-majority-of-proofpower gives Bitcoin-like safety. Difficulty targets ~10 min blocks with ~2-week retargets; longest chain by height remains the rule.

2/ How the Nockchain puzzle works: header + nonce seed a cryptographic sponge, squeezed to populate a list with 64 elements. A fixed program runs on the Nock ZKVM over the Goldilocks field, yielding a witness. Miners prove it, hash the proof, and check against the target.

1/ On Nockchain, instead of computing hashes (Bitcoin’s PoW), miners generate zk-SNARKs. Each block carries a proof. That proof is then hashed and compared to the target, Bitcoin-style. Same rules but richer verification. A thread on zk-PoW. 👇
