The UPSC CSE 2023 results are out! 🌟 takes me back to the days of frantically searching a PDF. Are you wondering if the UPSC Exam is for you?
I've outlined what factors you need to succeed in UPSC here. Have a read!
Didn’t clear UPSC mains after getting Rank 213 in UPSC 2020, it’s genuinely humbling. You finally see that this exam is about so many factors beyond your control 🫠
Trying to learn how to talk about my failures as much as my successes! IPS West Bengal it is 👮🏽💕
I often felt during my

that the process of personal growth was not highlighted. I want

to feel that making mistakes and growing in the process of the

Wow so this got popular 😌 couple of clarifications - 1. Not writing the examination again. Feeling okay moving on to the next phase of life. 2. Happy to serve anywhere in the country! A huge thanks to everyone welcoming me to West Bengal 🌸
Jokes apart, I’m really happy that the essay paper is becoming more philosophical. It tests an aspirant’s ability to reflect on the world around them, and it’s the one paper where there is enough time to think deep. But some of these deserve a thesis and not just an essay 😅🌸
Last year when my friend
@vasujain_vj
didn’t clear UPSC CSE 2019, he had the bravery to post a screenshot of his marks online. Not as a failure, but as a stepping stone to success. This year, in CSE 2020 he’s AIR 67!
Emotional and proud to hear my sister
@nirja04
s name announced in the IPS officer passing out parade! Years of hard work and rigorous training.. she has done it. So proud. ❤️.. IPS Nirja Shah! :)

One of my favourite episodes!
My favourite line - ‘The public sector has a skill deficit, the private sector has a trust deficit and the NGO sector has a scale deficit’. Neatly sums up so many issues! 😌
To reform India, you must reform the Indian state.
@karthik_econ
joins me in episode 375 of The Seen and the Unseen to chat about his great new book -- with a deep dive into his chapters on the bureaucracy:
Another classic. It's Karthik, so no surprise!
Thank you
@CseWhy

For the past 3 years, my Whatsapp status on has been - "In what world do you get to leave the ring and declare victory?"
It's a line from the movie based on an off-beat early 2000s noir mystery TV show called Veronica Mars, and has become my personal mantra for UPSC 1/n
Life is uncertain, and outcomes may be outside our control. And so is UPSC CSE.
Except that in the case of UPSC, you can plan.
And you must.

"Factors beyond our control" often dictate our fate much more than our own actions. It's important to realize that we do not control outcomes, only influence them."

for the first time in 3 years! I hope that aspirants keep one thing in their minds - trust. Trust yourself and your preparation and you will perform to your fullest. All the best! ✨💫
@TheHighTable3
Absolutely agreed! It’s only a small range of marks here or there. Many with multiple attempts may not be able to explain what worked for them in their successful attempt.
Somehow, our world seeks to push down idealists as impractical. It's so much easier to be a pessimist, because you expect nothing.
But I want to hold on to my idealism. I am too young and too inexperienced to give into cynicism. 5/n
Maybe I'll regret this later in life, and call myself naïve. But as I move from a private citizen to an officer, I just hope that I can hold onto some hope.
Because leaving the boxing ring is not an option, because that isn't winning, it's an escape💫 6/6
Just some of the exams which I have taken in the last 3 years.
More than 40 competitive exams I have appeared for but never ever did I deviate from CSE preparation.
The journey of an aspirant and competitive-exam-taker has now paved the way for an altogether new journey.
I am a little late, but as it was Gujarati New Year a few days ago - my resolution for this year is to unlearn and relearn, both personally and professionally 💫💓
I would trust this key more than most coaching institutes. A very dedicated team of more than 30 UPSC CSE 2020 toppers spent 7 hours of their Sunday working on this!

If my boyfriend took me to a helicopter I would immediately go fix my make up and ask him which photographer he hired for the proposal
In light of recent comments by

ji, I encourage all aspirants to give some thought to the decision to write UPSC examination.
Intern in any government set up and private sector and compare the two. Don’t come into civil services with the wrong expectations 🧘
Are you wondering if you should write the UPSC exam? 📚
Since this is a question I get from a lot of students, I thought I would write a deep-dive article series. Here's Part 1!

Sir, I think it’s all about opportunities and support. Give women the opportunity to pursue what they want to do (instead of restricting them based on safety) and give them full support if and when something wrong happens to them! 🌟
That somehow, despite all the criticism it faces, our country and our system has many achievements and consists of people trying their very best.
Working with an MP for a year only strengthened this belief, that you can quietly and peacefully do good within the system 4/n
Feels odd to RT this amazing a compliment but seriously
How can someone be so humble and nice! This is why everyone is so happy for your success, and so happy for you,

Morning spent well. We walked for 7 kms & collected two truck full of plastic. Every second plastic piece thrown on Forest road is either Chips or Kurkure packet. Joined by district SP, students and local NGO from morning 7 AM.

Vasu, I am so proud of you! It takes guts to share failures publically rather than only successes.
I am 100% certain, your name will be the pdf this time 🙌🙌

Everyone has become experts in knee jerk reaction and sensationalization. Kindly verify facts before sharing. You should know that spoiling someone’s reputation is defamation.
Soon, the meaning began to evolve. I didn't only feel that I wanted to clear an examination, but began to feel that I wanted to be a person of value within the system.
That by only sitting on the outside as a private citizen and complaining, I was somehow leaving the maidan 3/n
Absolutely true!
The toughest part of this exam is to build your knowledge base from scratch, to face the bad marks and be open to feedback and change😬
#UPSC2020
In UPSC civil services exam attitude and personality matter more than the knowledge quotient. If you are not learning from mistakes, and not evolving as a mature, humble, confident & thoughtful individual- it’s going to be very difficult to succeed in this exam.

@Sajit_Nair
I cleared the 2020 UPSC civil services and was allocated IPS Service. Reattempted the 2022 UPSC CSE but didn’t make it through the mains stage!
Initially, it meant that I wouldn't give up on UPSC examination preparation. That however hard it got, I wouldn't give in to any other career choice, and just keep at it, atleast for one attempt 2/n

Do you think that larger headings (2/3 per essay) should be made? E.g. I just wrote this mock essay on 'role of education in creating an inclusive society' - couldn't think of any innovative headings so just made them from the topic name itself
Beautiful read embodying the spirit of an Inclusive India 🇮🇳
“Migration probably proved a blessing in dis guise. I believe it gave me better opportunities than what I could have had if my family had stayed back in Bihar,”
What’s the modern day equivalent of the green light at the end of Daisy’s dock in the Great Gatsby?
I think it’s watching your ex blow up on social media. What do you think?
"Why do women take longer to get ready?" 🤷♀️
"Why do women have so many clothes?" 👗👠👜
I don't know, but I tried to seriously answer these questions. Please have a read!
Happy International Women’s Day! It fills me with joy to imagine all the women out there trying to find their place in the world. More love and luck to you all 🫶✨
