#Antisemitism is not the root cause, but a dangerous symptom of a deeper societal illness. Like a virus, it mutates over time, reflecting the decay within. The real disease is a society losing its moral and ethical foundation.

It is inappropriate for an elected official to use their public platform to give legitimacy to organizations with links to terrorist entities, especially as Vancouver's Jewish community continues to face rising antisemitic incidents and hate crimes. 2/2

Jewish Canadians have the right to live, work, study, gather, pray, and express their identity without fear. The data is clear. The concern is real. British Columbians recognize that what is happening is not okay. 5/6

Antisemitism is being normalized under the guise of activism. 66% of British Columbians say some of the protests and graffiti have crossed the line into antisemitism. 4/6

Three in four British Columbians agree: Canadian Jews are being unfairly targeted over events in Israel and Gaza. Let’s be clear: Jewish Canadians are not a proxy for foreign policy. Holding them responsible is dangerous and antisemitic. 3/6

79% of British Columbians are concerned about antisemitism. 86% are concerned about attacks on Jewish spaces, including synagogues, schools, and businesses. 83% are concerned about the aggressive behaviour of pro Palestinian protesters. This is not abstract. It is reality. 2/6

A new poll shows a disturbing reality for Jews in BC. Nearly half of British Columbians say they would feel less safe if they were Jewish today. This reflects the deeply unsettling rise in antisemitism we are witnessing in BC & across Canada. 1/6 #bcpoli https://t.co/Xy1bEIZkfz

Our latest release: More than three-in-four British Columbians aged 18-to-34 (76%) feel the statements of some protestors have been antisemitic. At least three-in-five of their counterparts aged 35-to-54 (63%) and aged 55 and over (60%) feel the same way. https://t.co/GchZtASLho

Two years ago today, Hamas terrorists attacked Israel on October 7. As we mourn, hate marches are planned in Vancouver and other cities. Once again, terror sympathizers will occupy our streets to glorify the murder of 1,300 innocent people. British Columbia must never be a

I'm incredibly disappointed to see Councillor Sean Orr participating at a Samidoun-affiliated rally in Vancouver. Samidoun is a terrorist organization. Anti-semitism has NO place in Vancouver. Celebrating Hamas has NO place in Vancouver. I call on all local elected officials to

Vancouver City Councillor @seanorr spoke for 3 minutes today at a rally organized by terrorist entity Samidoun at the Vancouver Art Gallery. Orr repeated false allegations of genocide against Israel but failed to mention the Hamas genocide of Jews on October 7, 2023.

I call on Councillor Orr to publicly disavow the event and withdraw his participation. His presence risks undermining public trust. Vancouver deserves better. Enough is enough. We will not stay silent. 8/8

There is space for debate on the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. But there is no moral ambiguity about October 7. There is no place in a democratic society for the glorification of terror or for public officials who lend their support to that discourse. 6/8

Participation in such events is not a neutral act. It signals a willingness to stand with those who justify terrorism rather than with those who seek coexistence, peace, and human dignity for all. 5/8
