Mentorship and authorship are two very different things! Yes a senior author is often (but not always) also a mentor, but some of the most valuable mentorship (and peer support) comes from those outside of your direct circle.

I didn't tweet about that goddamn awful paper last night as I was too upset and angry - I still can't believe that anyone would publish something with so many obvious flaws, such terrible conclusions, and that is so damaging to
