Then surely at the top of the stairs? There’s lots of wall space there. Nope, not there.

How about at the foot of the stairs leading up to the platform? That would be helpful, wouldn’t it? Save you running up those stairs & having a heart attack. Nice idea, but no.

Surely, then, somewhere along the walk through the tunnel leading to the platform? . Nope.

Do they tell you where they put the ticket machines?. No, not there either.

Do they tell you immediately on entering? . No.

If you’re trying to catch @AvantiWestCoast there’s no point arriving on time. You must arrive early. Arrive on time & you’ll find train waiting (assuming it’s on time, big assumption), doors locked. Doors close 40s before departure. But at Stockport, where do they tell you this?
